Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Ask the Planets is operated by Ask the Planets Ltd, [registered address] ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@asktheplanets.app.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.

3. What the service is

We compute astronomical positions from your birth details and present astrological interpretations of them. We also run a directory in which independent astrologers offer paid consultations.

Astrology is offered here for reflection and interest. It is not a science, and nothing in the service is medical, psychological, legal, financial or safety advice. See the Astrological Disclaimer for the full position. Never delay seeking professional advice because of something you read here.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for anything done through your account. Sign-in is by Google or by a link sent to your email address, so keep that email account secure. Tell us promptly at hello@asktheplanets.app if you believe someone else has used your account.

5. Your birth data

To produce a chart we need your date, time and place of birth. You choose to give us this. We use it to compute charts, to generate readings, and, if you use the Ask feature, we send the relevant chart summary to our AI provider so it can answer your question. We explain all of this in the Privacy Policy, and you can delete your account and data at any time from your account settings.

6. Plans, payment and renewal

We offer a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change; we will tell you before a change affects a renewal.

You may cancel at any time from your account settings or the billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Unless the law where you live says otherwise, or we say otherwise in writing, we do not refund part-used periods. If you bought through the Apple App Store, Apple's terms and refund process apply to that purchase and you manage it in your Apple account.

Where you have a statutory right to cancel a digital purchase, that right is not affected by anything in this section.

7. Consultations booked through the directory

Astrologers listed in the directory are independent professionals. They are not our employees or agents. When you book a consultation you enter into a contract with that astrologer for the consultation itself. We provide the booking and payment mechanism and charge the astrologer a platform fee of 15% of the price.

We do not verify the qualifications, claims or conduct of individual astrologers beyond basic account checks, and we are not responsible for the content or outcome of a consultation. Cancellations and refunds are covered by the Booking, Cancellation and Refund Policy.

8. Acceptable use

The Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms. In short: do not break the law, do not abuse other people, do not scrape or overload the service, and do not use the service to present astrological output as professional advice to people who are relying on it as such.

9. Our content and yours

We own the service, the software, the interpretive text we write and our branding. You may use them only as the service allows. We do not claim ownership of your birth data, your notes, your chats or, for astrologers, your profile text and client notes; you keep those. You grant us the limited licence we need to store and process them in order to run the service, and, for astrologer profiles, to display them publicly in the directory.

Astrological interpretations we generate for you are yours to use personally. Professional subscribers may use reports generated for their own clients in the course of their practice.

10. Availability

We try to keep the service running but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Positions are computed from a published ephemeris and are accurate to a level we describe on the site; where a figure is approximate we say so.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are required to close by law, or that presents a risk to other users. If we close your account without cause we will refund the unused part of any paid period.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, we are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of astrological content, for loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability arising out of the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period or fifty units of your billing currency.

13. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change matters we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, that right is preserved.
